The VULCANIA Travel Book Award was created in 2005 in partnership with the association Il Faut Aller Voir, organizer each year in November of Rendez-vous du carnet de voyage.

Every two years, this prize rewards travel books created specifically on the theme of “The adventure of the Earth” in all its aspects (discovery, society, legends, fiction, history, environment, geology …). The winner receives a scholarship of 1500 € and is invited to make a trip during which he realizes a new notebook. The latter is then the subject of a solo exhibition at VULCANIA and he is also present at the Rendez-vous du Carnet de Voyage at Polydome in November in Clermont-Ferrand.

Daniel CASTEILL, laureate 2017, nominated by the public and a jury, for his notebook “Promenades” (Larzac) thus made a new trip that took him to the Canary Islands from where he returned with a notebook entitled “The islands Fortunate “.
